ESSEX WINTER WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Lisa & Pete (Houchins Winter Wedding)
When I met with Lisa and Pete back in February 2019 for their consultation meeting, little did we know then that we’d have to wait until November 2022 for their wedding! Their original date was the 26th April 2020 but a national lockdown and subsequent related delays put paid to that.
On the fifth date Lisa and Pete finally got to have their wedding and this date meant it was a winter wedding! It was held at the beautiful Houchins near Coggeshall, Essex, an elegant wedding venue with stylish grade 2* listed farmhouse accommodation. The day began with preparations just a stone’s throw from the venue in the beautifully restored and decorated 16th century farmhouse. Lisa and her bridesmaids got ready in the dressing room with a glass or two of Prosecco while Pete and his groomsmen were downstairs in the drawing room.
The couple made their way separately across the terrace overlooking the landscaped gardens to their ceremony which was held in The Foundry. The ceremony room was elegantly decorated with a subtle Christmas them, including mistletoe in an arch. The previous dates could be seen throughout the day with personalised touches such as the ring box and ceremony room sign, both with 27th March 2022.
After a beautiful ceremony the newlyweds headed outside for a confetti line, bouquet toss from the roof, canapes and drinks. What started as a foggy November day turned out to be dry and bright which meant we were able to enjoy the beautiful grounds for couple portraits and formal group photographs.
As the sun began to set in the afternoon sky the guests moved indoors to The Grain Store for the wedding breakfast. The tables were set with Christmas crackers for guests to pull before they ate. Pete and his best man gave fantastic speeches after the meal and Calli, the Maid of Honour, gave an improptu speech too! After cutting the spectacular cake the couple kicked off the dancing.
