The Future of Product Photography: Photoshop Beta Generative Fill
Adobe Photoshop is one of the most popular photo editing software programs in the world. I use Photoshop predominantly for my product photography work. Recently, Adobe has been adding new AI-powered features to Photoshop, and one of the most exciting new features is Generative Fill.
Generative Fill is a beta feature that allows you to create realistic and detailed textures and patterns using artificial intelligence. This can be a powerful tool as a photographer, as it can help to create more realistic and visually appealing product images by adding shadows and replacing objects.
Here are a few ways that it can be used to improve product photography:
- Create seamless product images: To fill in any missing or damaged areas of a product images, making it look perfectly seamless.
- Add reflections: To add reflections to help make products look more realistic and polished.
- Create new product images: To create new product images from scratch. This is a great way to generate ideas for new products or to create mockups for marketing materials.
Generative Fill is still in beta, so it’s not perfect. However, it is a powerful tool that has the potential to revolutionize product photography. As the feature continues to develop, it is likely to become even more powerful and versatile.
Here are some examples of what I created when playing with Generative Fill using the image at the top of the blog as the base image and then asking Generative Fill to create water droplets, shadows, beach vibes and pool side themes. I think you’ll agree, this is an exciting development!
